Have you ever wondered why the latest models we offer—including the Volvo XC90, S90, and XC60--look as eye-catching as they do? It’s because of the man you’ll see in the video above. His name is Thomas Ingenlath, and he’s been the Senior VP of Design for the company since 2012. At this year’s 2017 AutoCar Awards, he was named “Design Hero.”
That’s high praise, as the latest line of Volvo models wouldn’t be the same without his touch. Incorporating design cues from Scandanavian tradition, such as clean lines and striking details, while imbuing interiors with the finest materials, natural light, and an emphasis on skilled craftsmanship, Ingenlath has more than made his mark. At the awards event, he selected a brand-new V90 T5 Inscription with Nappa leather upholstery, a panoramic glass sun roof, walnut wood inlays, and tinted windows to highlight his design philosophy.
