Releasing later this year is a new EV model called the EX30. The EX30 will be the second model with the EX name and Volvo's smallest SUV. This model is part of Volvo's commitment to an all-electric future by 2030, and if this is a sign of things to come, we can't wait to see what the future holds.
Highlights of the Volvo EX30
Two powertrains will be available for the EX30, which will utilize a 64.0-kWh battery pack. The Single Motor Extended Range features a rear-mounted electric motor, 268 horsepower, and 275 miles of range. While the other engine, Extended Range, offers two electric motors on each axle for all-wheel drive, 422 horsepower, and 265 miles of range.
Take a seat in the cabin, and you'll be impressed by the quality and comfort on display. The seats are cloth but exceptionally comfortable, and gray panels with white specs give the space a unique quality. On top of that, there's a vertically oriented 12.3-inch display with an updated version of Volvo's Google-based interface and Google Maps for navigation. A unique sound system replaces the front door speakers with a soundbar across the base of the dash.
Along with great tech and amenities, the Volvo EX30 also offers a variety of safety features. Coming standard are automated emergency braking, lane-departure warning with lane-keeping assist, and adaptive cruise control. Unique to the EX30 is a new door-open alert system that will warn you if a cyclist or other vehicle is approaching the EX30's doors.
